Forthcoming exhibitions
No one, other than the master painter himself,
has done more to promote the work of Ukrainian artist Grigoriy Shyshko to an international audience than Danusha Fine Art's Tamara Demidenko.
And now, to coincide with one of Europe's most celebrated sporting events, Danusha Fine Arts has been especially asked to bring Shyshko's extraordinary legacy to the heart of Europe itself, in an exhibition at the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
To showcase one of Ukraine's finest artists in such a setting, world's media will be focused on Ukraine's important cultural history and traditions will undoubtedly lead his reputation to soar. This event follows successful exhibitions of the retrospective Modernist Impressionism in Ukraine including the one at the United Nations Office, Geneva in 2007.
Shyshko had a unique impressionist style, his subject matter was as bold as his colours, painting industrial scenes, mines, factories, power plants and bridges as well as more conventional landscapes. What less visionary painters might have rejected as ugly he displayed on the canvas in their tragic human beauty. The result is a symphonic, lyrical modernism that has been compared to Cezanne but owes much to the geography and history of his native Ukraine.
The exhibition will be at the European Parliament, Strasbourg, from 21st - 25th May 2012.
