“[Magro] is essentially a lyrical artist who finds the poetry in everyday life… All is peace and calm. The painter’s skill with perspective allows him to solve the timeless problem of rendering wide open spaces within the confines of canvas.” Dr. Tetyana Honcharenko. “Petro Magro’s practice is rooted in tradition of Russian Realism… The issues of “typicality” and national identity were both crucial and fraught with Sotsrealist discourse.
